There have been a number of complaints about Gmail loading too slowly. This is likely due to the 2.0 user interface (UI) released in the fall of 2007. However, there is a workaround to this: use this address to access your Gmail account: https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1 instead of the usual www.gmail.com. The former address uses the 1.0 interface, while the latter uses the 2.0 interface. It appears that even Google’s grid computing can not overcome software design flaws.
