TrueCrypt is a free and open source encryption software. With minimal effort, you can quickly configure TrueCrypt to encrypt your data. Why should you configure your data? Well, if there is data residing on your laptop, computer, external drives, internal drives, or USB device which is of a sensitive nature, it’s likely a good idea to have some form of encryption. In a previous tip, I explained how to use OpenDNS to speed up your internet browsing, in addition to basic filtering. OpenDNS also includes the ability to filter and block various subjects including adult themed websites. If you are concerned about family members, students, or employees visiting adult themed websites, it’s very easy to block various “adult” themes, and OpenDNS includes categories such as “Adult Themes”, “Lingerie/Bikini”, “Pornography”, “Sexuality”, “Nudity”, “Tasteless”.
